The International Aluminum Institute’s report for June showed a decline in global primary aluminum output versus a month ago and year-ago output levels. June primary aluminum output was 2.030 million metric tons, down from May’s level of 2.106 million tons and year-ago production of 2.099 million tons, the group says. Yearly production is also down, with the January to June output estimated at 12.438 million tons compared to 12.631 million tons a year ago.
